Looking for someone to talk to?

You might be wondering whether psychotherapy might work for you? How does it work and can it help?
Feel free to reach out for a free initial conversation. I'll listen to what's happening for you and why you are seeking help. You'll get a feeling for how I work and whether I'd be a good fit for you. We can discuss whether you'd prefer online or in-person and what day/times will suit you best. It's good to find someone you feel comfortable working with.
I've worked with and helped people of all ages and genders with a wide range of presenting issues: the starting point is a really good conversation about what is going on.
Book a free online consultation today using the Book an Appointment button, text or email me.
In-person sessions take place in The Wellness Rooms, Ballyogan/Carrickmines. Online sessions allow me to work with you, wherever you are.
About Me
Hi, my name is Barry Ryan. I am a psychotherapist and pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds – from students to retirees, and everything in-between, at as fast or slow a pace as suits your need. It all starts with a good conversation.
I hold a Masters in Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy (Clinical) and my dissertation specialist area of interest was exploring the work of psychotherapists supporting adults with ADHD, particularly the challenges arising from a “late” diagnosis.
Alongside a 30+ year career in business and IT, I hold qualifications in NLP and Coaching and bring both a holistic and grounded mindset to this work.
Individual Psychotherapy
I have experience supporting individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harming, challenges of addiction, compulsive thinking, body dysmorphia, transgender issues, bereavement/grief, parenting issues, relationship difficulties, dealing with the day-to-day challenges of adult ADHD, neurodiversity and everything in-between.
The core of this work was not in the “label” attached to the client’s circumstances, it was in forming a strong, warm working relationship that recognises that being human can bring unexpected challenges and working through those in a confidential, supportive, accepting and non-judgemental environment can bring lasting and welcome change.
My training is “humanistic integrative” which means that I use a variety of modalities (Rogerian, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT) together with my own sense of what is useful to the person in front of me.
